Blossome is a Colchester based CIC that supports people affected by another person’s addiction. It was founded in 2020 and has never had a PR advisor.

Thanks to some funding, I worked alongside the founder, Kim, to raise their profile in Essex for six months including strategic planning, drafting a crisis communications plan, profile raising for their founder and supporting on key awareness periods.

• This resulted in their first piece of TV coverage when ITV Anglia came to one of their groups as part of World Compassion Day.

• Their founder has also been a regular interviewee on BBC Radio Essex talking about widowhood, fundraising events and raising awareness of what life can be like for her community.

• Their events and support groups are regularly covered in the regional newspapers.

• They had a full-page feature in Essex Life magazine talking about their bid for charitable status and need for funding.

• Kim, their founder was named one of Big Issue magazine’s Top 100 changemakers for 2026 after I submitted her application - resulting in more regional coverage.
