Epilepsy Action

‘If I told you…’ campaign

June 2025

I worked alongside the Epilepsy Action press office team and another freelancer to maximise coverage for their June awareness campaign.

We were brought on to support the press office after the planning and research had been conducted. As such our principle role was media relations and strategic media planning.

We supported in drafting case study pitches, press releases and media target lists. We then pitched stories to individual and relevant titles and the news and research angle out to relevant national and trade titles.

We secured 12 items of national, regional and trade coverage with a reach of 44.5 million monthly readers. Including an exclusive interview and story with PA real-life.

We worked with Phoebe on our national ‘If I Told You?’ awareness campaign, which focused on telling powerful epilepsy stories and highlighting why public understanding and empathy is so important to helping people affected by the condition feel understood. We had already developed the first stage of the campaign and given last-minute changes in our team, we needed specific PR support with the media strategy and sell-in.

Phoebe was an absolute pleasure to work with – making sure she quickly got up to speed with what support we were looking for and advising on how to maximise our research data and case study testimonials to get the best coverage. She worked with us closely throughout the whole process, also giving us fantastic support with our case studies to make sure their stories were told sensitively and respectfully. We were really happy with the media coverage we received and were grateful to Phoebe and her colleagues for their guidance and insights on how to make the most of future campaign planning for PR success.

Whether you’re at the initial stages of planning a campaign or need more tailored PR support, we thoroughly recommend Phoebe to help you navigate the process and get results.
